TOOT!

October 10, 2010 by gracefulfitness 3 Comments

Every October some 7,000 plus people descend on tiny Lewisburg, West Virginia to get a…

Taste Of Our Town

And tasting there was!

Dozens of booths are set up along main street selling everything from ribs to gold dusted tortes!  Items go for $1-8 and are small to medium size so you can “taste” different dishes, it’s like tapas street-fair style.  A quarter of the proceeds go to Carnegie Hall (the other Carnegie) to fund their fantastic arts programs.

It was a perfect fall day!

(Yep, that’s my sis. She’s 17 months older and people are still mistaking us for twins, which I kinda like.)

I LOVE THIS WOMEN!  Beth White has known me since I was born and has been an amazing dance teacher, colleague, and friend to me throughout my life.  And, yeah, she is a gorgeous clown on the side!

More food, please!

My lunch started off with a cup of vegetarian chili and a cornbread muffin.

I promptly marched my ass back down the street to the Greenbrier Resort‘s booth for

TIRAMISU!

My sis and I dug in before I remembered I wanted to share this delicacy with you.  It was superbly amazing.  We ate about 3/4ths of it and saved the rest for Tate.

Dessert was followed up (an hour to two later) with this

I ate one shrimp and a bite of grits.

My momma had a booth

She served an Asian Rice Noodle Salad

And Good For You tea (a delicious herbal blend made by my dear friends at Groundworks Nursery)

The tea and noodles were great but the real highlight of her booth was that you got to take home your serving dish!

My mom is an incredible clay artist and made all of this gorgeousness!

T.O.O.T was great fun but the real reason for coming to town happened yesterday evening.  Tate’s family converged at Food & Friends restaurant to celebrate his grandparents 60th wedding anniversary!

(sorry, it was really too dark out to take this picture, but you get the idea :))

More family and food is on the agenda for today.  And I am DETERMINED to get a run in this evening (I could use any words of encouragement you have for me!)

Enjoy your Sunday and I hope it’s SUNNY!
