My very special house-guests have come and gone :(.
Two of my three sisters and my niece came over from West Virginia for their first visit to C’ville (since I moved here, which is really what’s important 🙂 ). We were having so much fun that I forgot to snap pictures! My sister did get a few of my niece leading me in a post-lunch workout yesterday.
We started with weights and moved onto yoga.
There were twists

And many an upward-facing dog

Savasana, of course

And a final seated meditation
Yes, this 8-year-old lead me through all of that-and more!
This girl gets me every time!
Unfortunately, the ladies had to leave this morning, something about Christmas play rehearsal, but we had a great time while it lasted. Having them here reminded me once again why we moved “back East”, it’s awesome to be close to family!
Today’s yoga was eh, I was not impressed but she redeemed herself at the end with pigeon pose. Any class that includes pigeon is at least alright in my book.
This is the class I did today, from

Post yoga the skies were blue and it was time to get out of the house. The Farmer’s Market was the perfect destination!
The C’ville Market goes through this month but starting today it stays opened until 2 instead of noon, which I think is great. It’s so easy for a Saturday morning to slip away from me!
I love our proximity to downtown! We are less than a half a mile, perfect for a stroll.
I feel like a little bit more exercise is in order but the day is suddenly slipping away. Next I am going to make some soup for an impromptu and simple dinner party this evening, then I really need to get some reading done, and I had hopes to work on the house (print and frame pictures, shop for furniture). I am really not looking forward to Fall Back tomorrow! Once it gets dark in the evening I lose motivation to be productive and just want to curl up with a book or movie.
At least we are celebrating tomorrow with a fun outing. Do you ever watch
How I Met Your Mother? It is my favorite sitcom, it’s well-written, well acted, a great ensemble, and a little inappropriate at times, everything a sitcom should be. Well, tomorrow night we are going to see
Josh Radnor (Ted from HIMYM) present his new film
happythankyoumoreplease as part of the Virginia Film Festival. I know that the character of Ted says nothing of Josh Radnor’s ability to write and direct (he did both for his new film) but it will be fun to see him in person and the film has gotten good reviews, including an audience choice at Sundance this year.
Better move on to the soup! Enjoy the light while we’ve got it!
