I didn’t run or do Pilates! Instead we had family day at the gym. Tate, my little brother, little sister, and I hit the YMCA to work-it-out. It was 45 minutes on the elliptical for me. I haven’t been a gym goer since I left for Peru two years ago and while I enjoy it every now and then I have grown more fond of non-gym workouts. It was really perfect for today though.
Late afternoon the sun came out (it never got above freezing though) and two of my sister’s and I bundled up for a walk.
The three of us haven’t been together for 15 months!
I am still walking a little funny due to some very sore hamstrings. 🙁
This gorgeous farm is right on the edge of town.
↑ Main street of our quaint town. We actually grew up on a farm 40 minutes south of here but this was our town, where we came for dance classes and Chinese food.
Tonight Tate and I are going to his brother and sister-in-laws for Sunday night dinner. I am excited to see our 3 1/2 month old nephew!
What did you do today? Paddle boarding? Yoga? Running? Exercise TV?
Running is the greatest metaphor for life,
because you get out of it what you put into it.

I took a nap this afternoon – and as a result feel like I slept the day away. I am going to do some form of exercise before bed – but probably something very low key.
Yeah! I did it! I did the Stress no More workout in the Dec. issue of Self. Awesome, relaxing strength moves. I even felt so good after, I tacked on some Pilates.
I love it when exercise inspires me to exercise MORE just because it feels so good! Great work!
yay, I love when families are physically active together. 🙂 You grew up on a farm? That is so neat.
It was more of a farm commune than an animal or agricultural farm. It was a great place to grow up, playing in the dirt and running through the fields! 🙂
Looks like you had a great time with your family! I did my Turbo Fire DVD and yoga and pilates! A great work out:)
P.S. I love the Oprah quote about running…so true. I admire those than can run during the winter. I am struggling:)
Winter running is a challenge for sure. I think the quote can apply to all exercise!
Sounds like you had a great workout yesterday!
It must be extra special to be with your sisters…15 months is a long time.
I can definitely relate to have family in far away places.
I am really close with my sisters so it’s awesome!
As another girl with sisters, this post made me smile! I am about to see my two older sisters after having been apart since last Christmas. Hope you are enjoying being back in your hometown!
