Things I learned from “watching” the game last night
- Doritos, cars, and beer spend a helluva lota mulla on advertising
- Superbowl commercials are still commercials!
- Football players come in many shapes and sizes.
- I’m not a Fergie fan, although I have tried to be in the past.
- I cannot watch football.
Seriously. I genuinely tried to watch the game and pay attention but my mind focuses inward just being around a football game. I’m just not cut out to be a sports fan. Luckily Tate is only a little more interested in sports than I am so it doesn’t factor into our daily lives.
So I left the party after halftime. I needed vegetables and PJ’s and anything but football.
The earlier part of my Sunday was much more my cup of tea.
Hiking with friends
Tate, Matt, Kath, Anna, the ever-adorable Arlie, four-legged Loki, and I went traipsing around Carter Mountain/Monticello area for 4.25 miles.
Even the littlest did some walking!
Tate and I arrived back home late afternoon and ready for lunch. The fridge was empty but the pantry was full. Mmmm garden vegetable soup and english muffins!
After lunch I just wanted to spend more time outside and enjoy the sunshine so I went out on a 3.5 mile “walk & talk”. I called family and friends that I wanted to catch up with and the miles/time flew by!
February goals update: the first week of the month I walked 20 miles and ran 2. This is slightly down from the 25 walking miles and 7.5 running miles per week I need to average in order to reach my goals but it was a 6 day week! And once my gym membership is up on Thursday I will be back to running more.
Are you game for a walking goal? Did you set a milage goal for the month? 100 miles in a month sound like too much? How about 2 miles a day? Let’s walk our way to Springtime!
My trusty pedometer helps me reach the goal of 10,000 steps per day in the warm weather…harder to do in the winter. BUT 5,000 has been the average per day last week. Hurry up Warm Weather!!
Susan
I always wanted a pedometer! These days I just use Map My Run though.
I left during half time too. But only to a back room with the other ladies for some Apples to Apples and eye brow waxing!
That sounds like a good Sunday night to me! Apples to Apples is definitely more my kind of game.
