White Oak Canyon

It’s totally February.

A gorgeous Saturday drove us to the mountains and we spent the day covering 10 miles of trail, marveling at waterfalls, and admiring sweeping valley vistas.

Note Natasha’s bare arms: it was that warm.  We passed a bunch of people out for the night.  I’ve never been a winter camper but the Springiness of the day made me jones to go backpacking.  There’s nothing like waking up in the woods!

Virginia is beautiful through all seasons but I miss green!  Not a live leaf in sight…

24 hours later…

February is like a pre-teen, one foot planted in the past and one in the future.

I’d better go dig my lettuce out…
