Home From Home
Portland is my kind of place.
The kind of place where a front yard bed of kale is considered landscaping.
The kind of place where the eggs are truly local.
Where the rosemary brushes dwarf cars (and maybe out number too).
Where even the dogs demand alternative transportation.
The kind of place where goats are the preferred mode of grass management.
Where self expression is the rule, not the exception.
The kind of place where mountains look like cartoon volcanoes.
And the kind of place where a little sunshine makes each of us feel like we are soaring 4 year olds.
Most of all the kind of place where Cedar, Anna, Chase, Arlie, Jodie, Dylan, Laura, Doug, Gabrielle, Ember, Amber, Jason, Laura, Suniti, Esther, Amber, Keely, Lauren, Preston, Amy, Alex, Sarah, Steve, and Michael welcomed me “home” as though I’d never left.
Thank you, Portland, for an amazing week.
