Dear sweet, 16-year-old, Faithy,
What an adventure you are in for.
Life is truly tremendous. Full of love, laughter, challenges, and triumphs.
At sixteen you are just starting to find your passion for exercise and holistic health, although you are already a dancer through and through.
Can you believe that you will run 26.2 miles at one time in your future?! I know that 2 miles is a struggle for you now but you will build up, mile by mile, and run further and stronger than you ever thought possible.
Before long you will find your future husband. Don’t sweat the first couple years of on-again-off-again, you two want and need each other with a passion that will stand the test of time.
I saw this quote the other day and thought of you, 16-year-old Faith.
Take it from 30 year old Faith, you’ll never have your shit together. No one does, or at least not for long. That’s the beautiful, tremendous thing about life; it just keeps streaming towards you!
Sincerely,
You in 15 years
What a GREAT post. Perspective is everything, isn’t it? I enjoyed seeing the photos of you as a child too! When did you run a marathon?
Thanks Sarah! Perspective is everything, I sure didn’t feel like a child when I was 16 but looking back I realize what a kid I was! I ran a marathon in Lima, Peru in May 2009. It was crazy and amazing and I loved every minute of it but have no desire to do it again anytime soon.
What a great post! I like that cartoon…it’s so true though, isn’t it? I remember when I thought that 30 would be grown up and I’d feel like a competent adult. Here I am, almost 30, and some days I wonder if I will EVER feel like a competent grown up?
I’m pretty sure that I’m never going to be a competent grown up, let alone feel like one! 🙂
love this 🙂
Loved the pictures!!!!!!!!
YES YES YES. I love you. This post is so inspiring. My 16-year old Rachel would have loved 16-year old Faithy. And this 30-year old Rachel loves 30-year old Faith very very much.

My phone number hasn’t changed…;)
