Thank you for the birthday wishes. I had a fantastic weekend and am ready to enter my 32nd year with gusto.
Some scenes from the weekend…
[Thank you Kath for the above images!]
My darling friend Frances made me a Faithified birthday cake; sprouted spelt flour sweetened with honey and full of coconut oil and avocado! It was scrumptious!
It’s my favorite time of year: berry foraging season! Black and white mulberries, mmmm.
Saturday birthdays are the best! Especially when it coincides with a town-wide festival. The Tom Tom Founders Festival supplied music and entertainment throughout the whole weekend. 🙂
Hope you had a delicious, friend-filled, and rejuvenating weekend!
So glad you had a wonderful day, er weekend!! 32 is a good year! I’ve never had a mulberry before, it looks like a blackberry. Are they similar?
In texture mulberries are like blackberries but the taste is different. The taste is mild and sweet and just a little floral. They grow on big trees (no thorns!) and in Charlottesville they’re on every corner!
Happy Birthday!! You look so glowy and beautiful – it must be the vegetables!
Happy of happiest days to you!
Awww, Thanks Sarah!
I’ve never seen white mulberries before, how cool. We have a mulberry tree in our yard. I should really do something with them.
The white ones are sweeter but a little boring (less berry flavor). I froze that bowl full and it worked really well!
Happy birthday! Your dress was beautiful. May I ask where it is from?
Thanks! It’s from Ross Dress For Less and I bought it a few years ago, I don’t remember what the label says off-hand but it’s just one of those generic affordable companies. I call it my pretty-ugly dress because although i like it it’s also kinda ugly (lime green!), I have a feeling it’s going to be a staple this summer though.
