I am not a big fan of driving. Roadtrips are fun but only when you have all the time in the world to go leisurely, stopping at every roadside fruit-stand that calls your name. Living in Charlottesville has created a bit of a dilemma; I really dislike the drive to West Virginia but really love what’s on the other end of the line!
Family!
My sister and her husband are opening a restaurant, The Burrito Bar at Breeze Hill, in Fayetteville, West Virginia. Saturday night was the friends and family soft launch and I happily drove over a few mountains to be there for it.
I’m so excited for these two! Congrats Yarrow and Ryan and if you are ever in Fayetteville, West Virginia (whitewater rafting! rock climbing! hiking!) go grab a burrito and a sunset!
I would love to have gone and, in fact, your sister honked and waved to me as we were both driving in that general direction, early in the day. I was much too tired and had way too much driving still to do on my return trip later in the day. Your pictures make up for my absence – I feel like I was right there!
Totally agree with your feelings about driving. It’s such a time suck…but family is always worth it! If I’m a passenger (and not sleeping) I try to write blog posts to stay productive and entertained!
It is ridiculous how much you and your sister look alike! Congrats to your family! –Dom
The first thing I heard as I walked up to the restaurant was “you must be Yarrow’s sister!”. We are only 17 months a part and have been confused for twins our whole lives. 🙂
what a fabulous deck! how fun! is that your niece? she is GORGEOUS!
it’s SUCH a great deck! yep, that’s my niece, the apple of my eye. 🙂
Looks like an amazing place. I would love to have dinner on that deck. Food looks great too.
Your family has such a beautiful, distinctive look. There’s no confusing relatives, I’m sure:) This setting looks marvelous. I love summer get togethers and decks and outside and early evening light and sunsets and beer.
Thanks Sarah! And yes, there are some strong genes there. 🙂 This deck feels like going to a summer cookout at a restaurant, I love the low-key vibe!
Family is one of the only things I am willing to drive for these days!! Anyway…
I was nominated for the Food Stories Award for Excellence in Storytelling and I’m supposed to nominate five talented bloggers as well. I Blog Love you and nominate you!! Now that I’ve done that I have no chance of winning cause you’re awesome. But that’s okay as I’m new and will then choose to believe the whole thing was just a pyramid scheme anyway 😉 In any case, I really do Love you and your blog and have been meaning to share the Love for awhile now. After all, it was bloggers like you that made me want to blog in the first place. You can check out the details if you are at all interested on my latest post Blog Love at http://midwesternbite.com/blog-love/
I am only about 40 minutes from Fayetteville…I’ll have to check this out. Hopefully they can accomodate gluten free.
They do have corn tortilla tacos! The menu is now up at http://www.theburritobarwv.com (I’m working on building it so it’s pretty limited but it’s coming along).
I tried it Sunday! Very good food and a beautiful view! 🙂
Cool! Thanks!
