Creativity is piercing the mundane to find the marvelous. ~Bill Moyers
I learned how to live during the year I spent in Peru. At first I was at a loss; what was I? I didn’t have a job at that point and I wasn’t dancing. But soon I learned to replace discomfort with confidence when asked “what do you do?”.
My response? I run a lot, I enjoy time with friends, I cook great meals, I run errands, I take naps, I do yoga, I read.
Creative. Mundane. Marvelous.
Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy being “productive” and earning money and working towards goals. I also think that it’s crucial to learn to be comfortable just being you. Delighting in the ordinary can lead to the extraordinary.
That year in Peru taught me to slow down, to live, to enjoy each breath, to indulge in the moments with loved ones.
And so that’s what I’ve been doing this week, this month, this year, this life. Productivity and work are not overrated but just being is most definitely underrated.
I’m heading to the hills for the next several days, perhaps the best place in the world to just be.
Have an amazing weekend!
This is one of the many things you have helped me learn.

Perfect timing. Thank you for your beautiful words. Enjoy your time in the hills. p.s. I love Bill Moyers. Ever listen to The Power of Myth with him & Joseph Campbell? A favorite. I think you might like it.
I wish you and Dave an amazing weekend!
