“National Water Dance is first and foremost a Movement Choir—a collective body of dancers and movers physically engaged in drawing attention to and action on water issues. For 2020 our focus is on the climate crisis.”
At 4pm EST I will be going live on my Gracefulfitness Instagram Page to participate, with thousands of other dancers around the country, in the 2020 National Water Dance.
UPDATE: My heart misses dancing more regularly and that was such amazing medicine.
In an exciting last minute collaboration, my cousin Josh provided the soundscore. His project, Sounds of the Ocean, creates an immersive soundbath experience to encourage connection between us and our oceans, ultimately leading towards improved ocean conservation.
I named the dance The Path to the Ocean, as all creeks lead to the ocean.
This dance is an improvisation, except for the opening and closing movement, which the National Water Dance Projects set so everyone had some common movement vocabulary.
This looks very intriguing. Water and dance can be so complimentary.
And it seems to be a theme of mine lately, eh? 🙂
